Still as usual , after the procession wife came home from work , dinner is finished , Tay go to loungeroom and open computers to check mails. And every single time, in the heart of Tay offered up little joy to read mails of the " netters " around the world who has sent to. There are messages about activities of the Vietnamese community abroad, some letters are talking about the sad life of the Vietnamese in oversea and there are reminders of the anniversary of the military ! .. As Tay read through the letters is finished, Tay watched outside, thoughts quietly, watching the sunset light bars that fall silently count the steps elapsed time in his life !
Recall ! Recently, Tay had left home land over 33 years , sometimes wistfully heels walking where Tay has residenced in South Australia . The day-old walked into the highs and lows of a life time as Confucius who said : 30 years old settlers! At the age of thirty Tay start a new journey to build the original home now ! At the age of thirty, making the country boy disorder, if not disabled , the war could have been killed him, who fell in the fight to protect South Vietnam freedom and democracy .. . And every time such thoughts , in heart of Tay glimpse of the lovely memories back to mind . Celebrate the joy and sorrow mixed with each other to become the sap of a lifetime !
Tay's endless thoughts, suddenly have barking dog happy guest of small dog Lu-Lu. Tay guess the visitor what none other than his friend Truong, who side by side with Tay living longer time volunteering for the community. Tay slit the belly were meticulous, slow to open the door and based on the time when Truong had, say a greeting instead visit :
- Huh! You go to work early today.
Either :
- Today work late so ! ...
Then Truong step into the house, as per routine, to the altar where the General and the Colonel photos placed in loungeroom, gesturing his hands in a praying manner offers the hero’s picture of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Vietnam who had committed suicide in the event of 30/4/1975 . Almost every week, the day has to go to work, Truong will visit Tay. Visit mornings drinking coffee talking , exchanged a few tabloid read on the Net last night, had two in the afternoon there sipping your glass of Remy Martin for some heartwarming to create the resource feeling . There are some day Truong and Tay sat down drinking until nearly midnight, Truong drunk and then went home!
In another new acquaintance, the afterthought, Tay used to tell Where most unforgettable memories of the days in the military. It is the years of service in the River Patrol 73 of Division 211/2 navy base Binh Thuy in Can Tho city. There are evening wartime memories return in moments tipsy, Tay said :
- The war in the past but has sunk nearly thirty-eight years ago , but places a combat sortie as : Nam Can, Cai Nuoc, Ca Keo, Dat Mui, Ca Mau, Ong Doc River, Thoi Binh. ... All this places as echo and still images engraved inside with months and days of Wartime. These friends have collapsed for home land on the U Minh Ha jungle: There were never once spoke with his lover. Some one left their wife lonely at home after a wedding night and then rush back to the battlefield to sleep forever in the ground mother. Some one had just left the military academy and has not faded military uniform ! ...
Every time Truong hear Tay’s storytelling in the military, Truong interfere with the coast of memories:
- You have served over the unit in the Navy ?
Tay as memorizing the units he served in the military past while , then recounts the details :
- Coastal Division 11 USN at An Thoi Island, Phu Quoc from 1969 to 1970. Coastal division 14 USN at Cam Ranh Bay from 1970 to 1971. Coastal Squadron 22 of navy teams 2 Cam Ranh Coast Guard from 1971 to 1973. River patrol 73 of Division 211/2 at Binh Thuy base, in charge of the U Minh Thuong and U Minh Ha jungle. The Support ship HQ 802 at Vinh Long base from 1973 to 1975 ...

Listen Tay talked about the memories when He was in home land , expressed little loyalty to the nation of soldiers, Trường interjected to ask :

- Yes ! I wish in my heart : " Not to Vietnam when dictators of the Communist Party of Vietnam are in control" ..
- You have high anti-communist spirit !
Tay smiled and said :
- I just wanted to maintain the integrity and " national spirit "! Because I am a soldier of the Republic of Vietnam, a war against the communist regime to protect the Republic of Vietnam , now maybe not so little interest for myself but reneged ancient oath, as opposed to my asylum !
- He was a corporal that spirit national as that is quite precious .
When listening Truong uphold Tay’s national spirit. Tay analysis :
- National spirit is not a noble thing reserved for those who have the right or a title and position in society , it is a symbol of human faith that even a soldier can also achieved. There are those who carry the rank of general or colonel , but over time turned on to collaborate with the communist government of Vietnam ! This type of person they are no longer national spirit .
- As such, you are an " Loyalist " protected the Republic of Vietnam regime !
- May be integrity until I closed my eyes .
Tay and Truong become each other 's soul mates from those days engaged in activities association, since the day Tay was elected chairman of the Veterans' Army of the Republic of Vietnam / South Australia . Although Tay is just the rank of Corporal, like a normal soldier of Navy . But in his capacity as chairman of the Veterans' Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces in South Australia, Tay has made the activity in Vietnamese community and in South Australia government a record immortalized : Tay is the initiated and established The Committee Memorial Building of Australian and Vietnamese Soldiers in South Australia that few presidents have not done predecessor . In the results of " Memorial " , Tay went through arduous obstacles , there is a timeTay confided to Truong :
- After taking over The Veteran Republican Army of Vietnam Association/ South Australia , from the president 's term predecessor , Bill Denny meeting at the headquarters of RSL on Wakefiel St include: Bill , I , Lawyer Kim Phuong , Ba Nghiep , Vu Duc Tam and Dang Quoc Tuan who represent Adelaide Weekly Newspaper, they established the interim committeee of Memorial Building (ICMB) The week after, ICMB post messages and pictures on the front page of Adelaide Weekly newspaper , At that time we were distorted from opposing factions ! But for the purpose and significance of the committee was to restore honor to the Republic of Vietnam soldiers and his family died in the war, as well as honoring fifty eight soldiers of the Royal Army of South Australia were killed in Vietnam war. So , I ignored the opposition and distorting nonsense , determined by the implementation of the proposed program !!!..
Stopping a moment to reminisce, Tay continues with :
- At the time, the Vietnamese language weekly newspaper in South Australia appear worded articles taking ridiculed Memorial Building Committeee as : Monument made of flour, and then go through a bunch of rain will melt away. President Tay is just corporal, do not have the ability to do great things! Tay is determined to carry out and complete monuments Australia - Vietnam soldier ! Monument was built where the city center, the city council of Adelaide, capital of South Australia. Now, Tay has become a veteran who is entitled to a pension under the rules of Veterans Royal Australian Army. These remaining days and months of his life, with the notion of time as the shadow through the window, Tay try to keep the spirit of nationa when He was a soldier of the Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces : Nation - Honor - Responsibility .
And for the rest of his life with a disease of the elderly, Tay wishes only one thing for the country is looking forward to soon be Vietnam Freedom and Democracy. Think about this, Tay recalled two sentences of prophesy of scholar Nguyen Binh Khiem :

If two prophesy slide fulfilled , the communist Vietnam’s regime will be end of the year of Goat and the Vietnamese people are peaceful and Liberal - Democrat began in the year of Monkey or Cock. Until then, if Tay was healthy, he will make a holiday to Vietnam to visit the country dear homeland !
Outside the afternoon sunshine had faded , signaling day will be off. Tay watched the sunlight fade away and glimmering drop side window , let go a sigh :
